A Facebook user asked me, as below, how I define Trump / MAGA fascism, because people use such terms to label politicians and politicians that they do not like. I was a Trump voter both 2016 and 2020 primary and general elections. I never have liked him as a person, but I voted for him because I supported a secure border. Others activists said that I had to vote for him, because he is the only candidate saying he would secure the border, so I did. I did appreciate a couple of things that he did with regards to securing the border and appointment of judges. However, I cannot support him any longer, no matter who his opponent is, because I believe he has shown himself to be a serious risk for the American constitutional republican system. I believe in the principles of the Founders, not absolutely in any individual politician.
Jerry W Price (Facebook) Please define what you mean by MAGA Fascism. Fascism has become a catch-all word for people having ideas or policies you do not like. {Fascism, Socialism, Naziism, and Communism all call for total government and total control of the economy.}
I began to consider Trump literally fascist, due to his response after the 2020 election and his inspiration of the attack on Congress on January 6, 2021. I believe he fits the definition of a “fascist” as highlighted below in the way that he tries to autocratically control the Republican party absolutely and punish those who just have different opinions. He would extend his control to the entire government if given the chance. If he were to be able to gain sufficient control, I believe he would become a true, fascist, ultra nationalistic ruler.
His movement is fascist, because the ultra nationalistic hardcore at least follows him without any question or criticism. I think most of his followers are just following him blindly and do not realize the implications of it.
