When Proposition 8 (gay marriage) passed in California, the then Mayor of San Francisco, Gavin Newsom declared that it was inevitable that California values would become American values. He was specifically talking about gay ideology, but he also means it in a broader sense, not just LGBTQ and gender ideology, but the more general, far-left progressive ideology. Of course, he also thinks San Francisco’s more radical values represent the values of all of California, which is not true either. There are some conservative parts of California, too.
