Chicano Park: A Letter to Mayor Faulconer and San Diego City Council

The letter below describes the ongoing serious violation of civil rights at Chicano Park. It is proposed as a solution that the name of Chicano Park be changed to something more inclusive and the offensive political murals in the park be removed. It was e-mailed to the Mayor and City Council members on September 17, 2017.

Dear Mayor Faulconer and City Council members,

On Sunday afternoon, September 3, five of us went to Chicano Park to peacefully have pizza for lunch and then view the murals. I wanted to point out the anti-American and La Raza supremacist aspects of some of the murals to a few people. This was not even a protest. It was merely a peaceful visit to the park, not intended to disturb anyone else. Our civil rights were violated and we were driven out of the park by an angry mob of intolerant park supporters.

I did not post news of this — intended private — viewing on on any social media. We coordinated the event by private e-mail. Someone under false pretenses had me add them to my e-mail list and they forwarded the information to Doug Porter at the San Diego Free Press blog. Porter and others knew that I am a critic of the hateful and anti-American, La Raza-supremacist murals at the park. Supporters whipped up a hysteria against us and we were met at the park by a violently angry mob of about 500 people.

We were threatened with violence before the visit. However, some of our group were not willing to passively have our civil rights violated and decided to visit the park exactly as planned before the threats. One woman and her 11-year old daughter opted out, due to the threat of violence. She went to the ballpark, instead, on military appreciation day, where she said she could display her patriotism without fear of violence.

We never planned to vandalize anything. The people, who incited this mob knew this very well, including members of the Chicano Park Steering Committee. Many defamed us calling us Nazis, KKK, fascists, white supremacists, etc.

I hold Mayor Faulconer and the City Council directly responsible for the discrimination and threats of mob violence against us, because you have supported and funded this park and the radical, anti-American agenda for many years with tax funds.

The Park is a magnet for violence-prone, political radicals from all over Southern California, who do not have any respect for the rights of other citizens and are willing to commit violent acts against any opposition in order to silence them. We expect the City Government to make the parks safe for everyone, no matter what their race or political beliefs. We also expect you to ensure that we can exercise our constitutional rights as American citizens in the public parks without fear.

This kind of discrimination against, especially caucasians and patriots of any skin color has been on-going for many years. Below are a couple of videos of the current episode. Though we were totally peaceful, we had to be escorted out of the Park by a several dozen policemen, who protected us against the threat of serious violence from the raging mob of extremists, who support the Park.

There were, indeed, racial supremacists at this event, but they they were not among the patriots. They were Black supremacists, a Black Hebrew Israelite sect allied with the supporters of the Park, a group of about 12 persons, called Sicarii, listed by the SPLC as a hate group. They are named after an ancient Hebrew sect of assassins. Of course, none in the media or supporters if this La Raza supremacist Park objected to the black-supremacist hate-group, who were supporting this brown-nationalist Park.

White Liberal Ordered to Lick Boots of Blacks in Chicano Park

Chicano-ism itself is a kind of Mexican/Hispanic mestizo supremacist ideology. Our City government shamefully supports and funds such a radical ideology, which attracts other, like-minded, violence-prone radicals. As a taxpayer, I do not want my hard-earned, tax money spent funding this park in the current hateful format. I know many others would not, either, if they really understood what it is about. Efforts to inform the citizens of San Diego of this malfeasance of Mayor Faulconer and our other city politicians in relation to this park will continue. As said already, we hold you responsible, especially, if someone is seriously injured protesting the hatefulness and anti-Americanism fostered at this park by politicians supporting it with our tax dollars. This incident at Chicano park has already received some national and international attention.

Although “Chicano” denotes an Mexican-American ethnic group, the “Chicano movement” is a racialist, separatist, supremacist political movement. The park is designed to reflect this narrow, anti-American political movement. It does NOT represent all Hispanic-immigrants and their families or even all the Hispanic residents of Barrio Logan.

If the City would take the simple steps of renaming the park to something more inclusive and removing the more offensive murals, everyone would be able to enjoy the park and exercise their constitutional rights there, such as simply waving the American flag, if they want, which is not possible at this time without incurring the serious threat of mob violence from radical supporters of this city-funded, discriminatory political Park.

Sincerely,
Roger Ogden
