After briefly touring the agricultural disaster in California’s Central Valley, Obama repaired to the Sunnylands Estate in Palm Springs for a weekend of Golf with King Abdullah II of Jordan on the extremely well-watered, lush golf courses of Rancho Mirage. Perfectly symbolic of just how much he cares, a couple hours spent with the suffering common folk and a weekend spent with another petty king playing golf.

King Abdullah was just in Washington and Obama could have met with him there. Of course, it is too cold to play golf right now in Washington, D.C. and being president means you get to do whatever you want, no matter what it costs the taxpayers.

The White House announced Friday that President Barack Obama will come to Fresno on Feb. 14 to discuss the drought and federal efforts to deal with it.

A White House official said further details about the president’s trip to the central San Joaquin Valley will be made public in the coming days.

Note: The situation is somewhat mus-represented in this article. This is not actually an impeachment resolution but a resolution meant to start legal action by the House to force Obama to obey the law via the courts. It is an alternative that does not require Senate approval. If the action passes and is successful in court, it would not remove Obama, but a court would declare some of his actions illegal. Could be seen as preliminary, but it is not an impeachment resolution. It may be the start of a process that leads to impeachment, but is not the start of the formal impeachment process.

On the other hand, it may also be seen as just another half-measure and delaying tactic by the House, who already has the power to rein Obama in, if they want to use it, via the so-called power of the purse.
