Someone vandalized the “Centro de La Raza”. El Centro Cultural de la Raza (the race) was the predecessor of Chicano Park. This is very interesting, but I am very much against it. It is likely to get them more sympathy, more support, and more money for El Centro de la Raza. Of course, they are using it to raise money.
It is not at all impossible to think they staged it themselves to gain sympathy and rally support. Nothing near and dear to them was damaged, such as the murals on the walls of the Centro.
Certainly, they are not getting federal support for these centers of anti-Americanism at this time. So, they are most probably in dire need of funding. El Centro Cultural de la Raza and Chicano Park would fade away if they were not able to continue to present themselves as the “victims”, which they are NOT. They are the anti-American aggressors.

If not they should be thankful for whoever helped them with their fund-raising.

Refer them to Senator Lindsay Graham, one of my South Carolina senators, who years ago received an award from La Raza. Although he may be trying to distance himself from them, I am certain that from the $80 million kick back he received from the Ukraine monies, that he could find enough for new door glass.
LoL. A lot of politicians, including Republicans, used to pander to La Raza. Presidential candidates would address the National Council of La Raza convention. Our local politicians still pander to our La Raza site, Chicano Park, the as well as closely-related Centro de La Raza. It could be that some federal funding got cut off that helped support the Centro and that’s why they need to do extra fundraising.
